Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Yevedo collects when you use our website and mobile apps, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what you can do about it.
1. Who we are
Yevedo is a marketplace where clients post jobs and independent service providers apply, agree on terms, deliver the work and get paid. The website at yevedo.com and the Yevedo mobile apps are operated by Yevedo LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, with its mailing address at 1111B S Governors Ave, STE 40679, Dover, DE 19904, United States.
Yevedo LLC is the controller of the personal data described in this policy. When we say "Yevedo", "we" or "us", we mean Yevedo LLC.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: first and last name, email address, phone number, password, country and city, and whether you use Yevedo as a client, a provider, or both.
- Profile information: profile photo, headline, description, skills, industries, languages, work samples, education, rates, availability and payment preferences. Company name and details if you hire on behalf of a business.
- Identity documents: if we ask you to verify your identity, the document you upload (for example a passport or national ID card) and the information printed on it.
- Job and contract activity: job posts, invitations, applications and proposals, contracts, milestones, deliverables and attached files, delivery date and payment change requests, project tasks, reviews and ratings, and disputes with the evidence you submit.
- Messages: the messages and files you exchange with other users through Yevedo chat.
- Payment and payout details: wallet deposits, withdrawals and transaction history, and the payout methods you save, such as a mobile money number or bank account details. Card numbers are entered with our payment processors and are not stored on our servers.
- Security settings: the phone number used for SMS verification, your authenticator app setup, your security question and answer, and your sign-in preferences.
- Support requests: what you write to us and any attachments you send.
Information collected automatically
- Device and session data: IP address, device model, operating system, browser or app version, and the list of devices currently signed in to your account (you can see and sign out of them in Settings).
- Approximate location: we use your IP address to guess your country so we can preselect it in forms and show prices in a sensible currency. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- Push notification token: if you allow notifications in the app, a token issued by Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver them.
- Usage and performance data: pages and screens visited, errors, and load times, used to find bugs and slow pages.
- Cookies and local storage: on the website we use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your account type, theme and recent searches. We do not use advertising cookies.
Information from other sources
- Sign in with Google or Apple: your name, email address and an account identifier from that provider. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive the relay address instead of your real one.
- Payment processors: confirmation that a payment succeeded or failed, the amount, and limited details of the method used (for example the last four digits of a card).
- Other users: reviews written about you, messages sent to you, and reports filed about your account.
Biometrics
If you turn on fingerprint or face unlock in the app, the check is done by your phone's operating system. We only receive a yes or no result. Your fingerprint or face data never reaches Yevedo.
3. How we use your information
- To create and run your account, show your profile to other users, and let you post jobs, apply, sign contracts and message each other.
- To process deposits, hold funds for a contract, release payments when work is approved, handle withdrawals and keep accurate financial records.
- To keep accounts secure: verify email addresses, send one-time codes, run two-factor authentication, and detect suspicious sign-ins.
- To prevent fraud, spam, scams and attempts to move payments off the platform, and to enforce our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
- To review disputes between a client and a provider, using the contract, messages, deliverables and evidence linked to it.
- To send you service messages (new application, approved milestone, payment received, password reset) and, if you keep them on, notifications you choose in Settings.
- To answer support requests and to improve the product based on how it is used and where it breaks.
- To comply with tax, accounting and other legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
For users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and other places that require a legal basis: we rely on the performance of our contract with you for running the marketplace and payments, on our legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention and product improvement, on legal obligations for tax and record keeping, and on your consent for optional notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time in Settings.
4. What other users can see
Your public profile (name, photo, headline, skills, location at city or country level, rates, work samples and reviews) is visible to other Yevedo users and, depending on your profile visibility setting, to visitors who are not signed in. You can change this in Settings.
When you apply to a job or sign a contract, the other party sees the information needed for that job, including your messages, deliverables and milestone history. Your email address, phone number, identity documents and payout details are not shown to other users.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is open. After you delete your account:
- Your profile is removed from search and public view right away.
- Profile details, photo, saved payout methods, push tokens and security settings are deleted or anonymized within 30 days.
- Messages, contracts, deliverables and reviews are kept in a form that no longer shows your name to the other party, because they are part of that user's records too.
- Payment and transaction records, and the data needed to prove them, are kept for as long as tax and anti-money-laundering laws require, generally up to 7 years.
- Information tied to an open dispute, a fraud investigation, a ban or a legal request is kept until the matter is closed.
- Encrypted backups are overwritten on a rolling basis within 90 days.
The full steps are on the Delete your account page.
7. Your choices and rights
You can do most of this yourself from your account:
- Edit your profile and account details in Settings.
- Change your profile visibility, notification preferences, language and currency.
- Unlink Google or Apple sign-in, or sign out other devices.
- Turn off push notifications in your phone's settings.
- Deactivate or delete your account.
Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to request a copy of your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, to object to or restrict some processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. This includes rights under the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the Digital Code of the Republic of Benin (Law No. 2017-20).
To make a request, email support@yevedo.com from the address on your account. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on it. We reply within 30 days. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact your local data protection authority. In Benin, this is the Autorité de Protection des Données Personnelles (APDP).
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit with HTTPS. Passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to run the service. You can add a second layer of protection with SMS or authenticator app codes in Settings.
No system is completely secure. If we learn of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as the law requires.
9. International transfers
Yevedo is based in the United States and has users and team members in other countries, including Benin. Your information may be processed in countries other than yours, which may have different data protection rules. When we transfer personal data out of the EEA or the UK, we rely on the safeguards provided by law, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
10. Age requirement
Yevedo is for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, write to support@yevedo.com and we will close it and delete the data.
11. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
